Description

Stowasser bass Tarogato
A national instrument, the soprano Tarogato patented by János Stowasser (1846-1923) in 1897, was widely used. In the early 20th century, the master developed a whole family of Tarogato in various tunings. As far as we know, this is the only bass Tarogato to have survived in Hungary. It is a unique piece with a body made of Brazilian cocobolo rosewood and handmade brass keys. The instrument is in excellent playing condition.
